  1. The glass door and its seal

    Condensation on the inside of the glass is not a mystery, it is a measurement: warm, humid room air is reaching cold glass because the door is not closing onto its seal. The same leak drives the humidity up, invites label damage, and has the compressor running far longer than the cabinet needs.

  2. Zones, sensors and the air around the cabinet

    A zone several degrees off its setpoint, or two zones that have quietly converged, is a sensor or a control rather than a seal — measured against a separate probe before anything is replaced. An undercounter cabinet that cuts out on hot afternoons is usually breathing its own exhaust behind a closed-off toe kick.

  • Watch the glass door close from a hand-width open. It should pull itself onto the seal.
  • Put a separate thermometer in each zone for a few hours and compare with the setpoints.
  • Hold a hand at the toe kick with the cabinet running. Warm air coming back at you is the problem.
